We are seeking a sharp, versatile Head of Business Operations to work directly with our CEO. You will take on a wide range of responsibilities across the company: administration, finance operations, suppliers and agreements, HR, legal coordination, logistics, marketing, and whatever new challenge lands on the CEO's desk next. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, can hold many projects with different contexts at once, and turns loose ends into well-run processes. Your work frees our leadership and engineers to focus on detecting the most sophisticated threats targeting government and national security customers.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the CEO's right hand, taking ownership of projects and ongoing responsibilities and driving them to completion with minimal oversight.
- Own finance operations: receive, track and aggregate supplier invoices, manage payment approvals, and serve as the main point of contact for our external bookkeepers and accountants supporting a US company with international operations.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships, including onboarding, renewals, negotiations, and keeping contracts and agreements organized and up to date.
- Coordinate legal matters with external counsel, including NDAs, customer and supplier agreements, and corporate documentation.
- Run day-to-day HR operations: onboarding and offboarding, employee and contractor records, benefits and payroll coordination for a team spread across multiple countries, and support for hiring processes.
- Support marketing activities, including coordinating conference and event participation, managing the website and company profiles, working with external agencies and designers, and preparing marketing materials.
- Handle office administration and logistics, including facilities, equipment, travel, and events.
- Build and improve internal processes and tools so recurring work runs smoothly and scales as the company grows.
- Take on ad-hoc and cross-functional projects as they arise, quickly getting up to speed on new contexts.
- Handle sensitive company, customer, and employee information with discretion and in line with our security policies.
- The position requires local and international travel.
Requirements:
- Several years of experience in business operations, office and operations management, executive support at a senior level, or a similar generalist role, ideally in a tech company.
- Native or near-native English, written and spoken.
- Hands-on experience with finance operations such as invoice handling, payment tracking, and working with external bookkeepers or accountants, ideally in a company with international operations.
- Experience managing suppliers, contracts, and agreements.
- Proven ability to juggle many projects with different contexts and priorities, and to thrive in that environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a habit of building processes rather than just reacting to tasks.
- Comfort working independently and driving projects with minimal oversight.
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
- Proficiency with common business tools and openness to using AI tools to work more efficiently.
- Eligibility to hold, or ability to obtain, a security clearance appropriate to the customer engagements the company supports.
Preferred:
- Experience in a startup or small company where you built operations from the ground up.
- Background in the security, defense, or government sector, or experience working with government customers.
- Familiarity with how US companies operate, and with engaging and paying people internationally (contractors, employer-of-record platforms, global payroll).
- Experience working with legal counsel on commercial agreements.
What we offer:
- High ownership: real autonomy over how the business side of the company runs, and the freedom to build it your way
- Direct impact: you work side by side with the CEO, and your work is felt across the entire company
- Breadth and growth: exposure to finance, legal, HR, and operations, with room to grow the role as the company scales
- Meaningful mission: you support a team detecting the most sophisticated threats targeting government and national security customers
- Competitive compensation and the tools you need to do the job well
