We have an opportunity for a talented and versatile iOS Security Researcher to play a crucial role conducting security research, doing exploit development and integration as well as exploit analysis to improve DFF’s zero-day powered mobile threat detection technology.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate zero-day and n-day exploits, allowing the leverage of the capabilities these grant for powerful mobile threat detection.
- Perform diffing of software updates to identify fixed vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
- Research iOS internals: userland daemons, kernel subsystems and other low-level parts of the system.
- Create new PoCs for n-day vulnerabilities.
- Perform in-depth analysis of crash reports, diagnostic logs and artifacts from any part of the iOS filesystem to determine if and how any exploitation attempts against devices may have occurred.
- Translate research into detection heuristics in the form of PoC rules and standalone detection tools.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in security research, vulnerability research and/or exploitation with strong iOS expertise.
- Experience with exploit development and integration.
- Deep knowledge of iOS userland and kernel internals, including mitigations such as PAC and MTE.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
- Deep knowledge of ARM64 assembly, C/C++ and Objective-C plus the ability to write Python scripts for automation.
- Experience using IDA Pro and/or other similar reverse engineering tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritizing multiple tasks.
Preferred:
- Experience in mobile forensic analysis and/or mobile threat detection.
- Experience with security tools, forensic analysis tools, and/or reverse engineering tools.
